About The NatureMapping Foundation

The NatureMapping Foundation was a national 501(c)(3) organization established to provide funding and support for the NatureMapping Program, to unify the efforts of NatureMapping activities occurring across the United States and abroad. The NatureMapping Foundation was a neutral, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the integrity of its scientific processes, protocols, and data analysis. It seeked to inform and improve public understanding and decision-making through its objectivity and independence.

Interest in the NatureMapping Program lead to the establishment of a network of informal education organizations of NatureMapping Centers, to provide local support and workshops. The Foundation handled the train-the-trainer training and the data collecton software, NatureTracker for each state.
