1. Everything is Connected

The Web of Life has many "elements" that depend upon each other.

 

  1. With a group of other students, draw a web showing relationships between the following “elements”;  rabbits, field mice, squirrels, coyotes, hawks, grasses, seeds, trees, other plants, water.
  2. Share your web with your class.
  3. Optional:  Design a web with different “elements” common to your area.

 


Definitions

Carnivore - any animal that feeds on flesh (Example: "A lion is a large carnivore.")

Herbivore - any animal that feeds chiefly on grass and other plants (Example: "Horses are herbivores")

Omnivore - an animal that eats animals and plants

Predator - any animal that lives by preying on other animals.

Prey - animal hunted or caught for food.
