The Washington Gap Analysis Project created breeding bird maps only. The non-breeding birds (e.g., wintering, pelagic (coastal), and birds expanding their ranges) are represented only by NatureMapping sightings.
The Washington Gap Analysis Project could not find any historical research records (i.e., Breeding Bird Atlas, Breeding Bird Survey, Bird Banding and Recovery) for 73 species of birds. The Eurasian Dotterel is one of the species.

A Eurasian species, it is accidental along the west coast. It is an uncommon, sporadic breeder in northwest Alaska.
In Washington, three fall Audubon sightings (Sept. 3 - Nov. 4) all from Ocean Shores, in 1934, 1979, 1999. One bird remained for over two weeks.
