This is our largest falcon which year-around inhabits open tundra of Alaska, the Northwest Territories, the Arctic Islands, the coasts of Greenland and Newfoundland. In some winters it has an irruptive range corresponding roughly with the US-Canada border and makes an occasional appearance in the Northwest.
