The Herring Gull winters from just below the breeding range in British Columbia south, in Washington, Oregon along the entire south coast and across several western states, as well as Baja California. The wintering area spreads all the way south-east as far as Florida. This gull’s breeding range covers Alaska to northern British Columbia and east all the way across the Northern continent.
