Metadata (Data about data or how the map was made)

Found in all habitats except bare ground and permanent ice from the Cascade crest west to the Pacific Coast. Usually very abundant in clear-cuts and in fields of short grass, but also present in all kinds of forest, in meadows, in alpine meadows, and riparian areas, from sea level to 6000 feet. On the east side of the crest, they are in coniferous forests only, down to about 2000 feet.

Core zones include Alpine/Parkland, all west-side forest zones, and mesic or high east side zones. Good habitat in core zones includes water/wetlands, and all non-forested and forested areas. Low density development and pastures are adequate habitat.
