Metadata (Data about data or how the map was made)

Ermines are found in all of Washington's forested zones from sea level to alpine and in most habitats. Their greatest density occurs in coniferous forests. They are absent from all of the steppe zones of the east side.

Core zones included all forest zones except the dry ones and Alpine/Parkland. In core zones, all habitats were good except bare ground and medium to high density development. In the Palouse, water/wetlands and forests were good habitat.
