Metadata (Data about data or how the map was made)

This species found only in the north Cascades and the northeast corner of the state, in cold wet bogs within or on the edges of boreal coniferous forests. With one exception, all Washington records are from 5000 to 7200 feet. Large, thick moss mats, particularly sphagnum moss, are the best predictor of finding the Northern Bog Lemming.

Core zones were Mountain Hemlock, Sub-alpine Fir, and Alpine/Parkland. Water/wetlands are good habitat, as are the above forested zones where bog microhabitats can be found.
