In all large cities in Washington and along streams and marshes on the west side. East of the Cascades, usually associated with cities and other buildings, particularly grain elevators. On the west side, all records are from lower elevations.

Core areas on the west side are lower elevation and on the east side steppe and Ponderosa Pine. Good habitat west of the Cascades are development, agriculture, and water/wetlands. On the east side or the Cascade crest, developed areas are the only good habitat.
