Satellites "see" the earth in many different colors. The colors are based on light reflectance. Bare ground and rocks reflect a lot of light, so the colors are pink. Water doesn't reflect light, so it is black. You can see Lake Chelan to the left and the lake behind the Grand Coulee Dam on the right.
Clouds are white and the bright green areas are irrigated fields, mostly orchards. The darker greens are conifer trees.
