Key Characteristics:
- Pairs of fan-shaped underwater leaves arranged opposite each other with each fan-shaped leaf on one third inch long stalks.
- Small (less than one inch long), oval, floating leaves with the stem attached in the center (may not always be present).
- Slender stem is sometimes covered with a gelatinous slime.
