Key Characteristics:

• Pairs of fan-shaped underwater leaves arranged opposite each other with each fan-shaped leaf on one third inch long stalks.
• Small (less than one inch long), oval, floating leaves with the stem attached in the center (may not always be present).
• Slender stem is sometimes covered with a gelatinous slime.
