Little River BoyHomes
Little River Boy is on his way down the river again. He is washed ashore by roaring rough rapids of the Little
Spokane River. Lying on the mudding bank he waits.
Little River Boy is scooped into the mouth of a big hairy sheep dog. The dog chews on Little River Boy's binoculars for a while until he hears, "Here Scruffy! Here Boy!" The dog races to his master's voice. "What's in your mouth big guy?" asks his master. He pulls the boat out of Scruffy's mouth and reads the message on him.
"Woof!" barks Scruffy. The man places him in the river. He floats down the river feeling the waves crashing against the side of the boat. It is beginning to get dark. Little River Boy can hear the owl calls. The sound comforts him and he falls asleep.
