Little River BoySpringsAs Little River Boy is floating down the river he comes toward the springs. The water begins to pull him under. Soon he is completely under water. He enters a pipe filled with water. The waves crash around the boat. The water in the pipe is very rapid. Finally, Little River Boy ends up in one of the fish hatchery pools.
One of the fish hatchery workers walks by to take a daily check on the fish. All of the fish are okay. Their rainbow scales shine in the morning sun. Blue, pink, yellow, and green create a pool of beauty. "Hey, what is this?" a man questions as he rumples his dark brown hair. He pulls the little wooden boat out of the water and walks over to one of his co-workers. ![]() "Look at this Charlie," says the man. The two men take Little River Boy into the large building for examination. As they are looking him over they read a message carved in the bottom of the boat. They add on a message that reads: Spokane Fish Hatchery, 1999. "It looks like this little guy is on a journey," remarks Charlie. The two men carry Little River Boy to the marsh and place him in the water. Once again Little River Boy is on his journey.
