How to Collect Data

Daily Monitoring

Data Collection Form

Monitoring daily is useful to answer questions that involve the time of the day when wildlife will be seen. Going out at different times (e.g., sunrise, late morning, early and late afternoon, and dusk) of the day for a week, until you have at least 10 records for each time frame can give you a picture of when you would see different animals.

NatureMapping Program wants to know "What do you see and where do you see it?"

If a group of people go out at the same time in the same area and collect data for that one trip, they may be seeing the same individuals. NatureMapping would only need the species list with the highest number of individuals seen for each trip.

If you collect data multiple times a day for a certain number of days, you are probably watching the same individuals. Report each species observed with the highest number of individuals seen at any one time.
